Rally Obedience promotes a positive relationships between dogs and owners based on trust and respect, and competitions are open to any dogs of any age. This takes the basic commands and turns it into a continuous, uninterrupted flow of heeling, basic obedience skills, and advanced skills. This includes obedience close to the handler, as well as performing behaviours at a distance at the higher levels. This is one of my favourite classes, and is designed to quickly and effortlessly take your existing skills and bring them to the next level! These courses include advanced heeling, backing up, retrieving names/scented objects, and catapults your connection with your dogs to the next level.

The descriptions below are guidelines only - every class will be shaped to the students in it, and focused on your goals. Even if there is a more beginner level class, I can provide specific exercises tailored to you within that class.

Beginner: This program is designed to increase your connection with your dog through fun heeling and distance exercises. In addition to enhancing current skills, students will learn a variety of signs from the CARO Rally handbook from novice to versatility, and have an introduction to working rally. This course will also include some small courses, and discussion on how competitions work. No pre-requisites other than your dog must be comfortable being on leash and have at least a little connection with you.

Advanced: This will focus on advanced, excellent and versatility signs. In addition, this will include taking your training 'on the road' through coursework. One key component to advanced rally is the ability to send your dogs to specific agility equipment, so these skills will also be covered, with exercises you can do at home with minimal space. Working exercises will also be expanded on, which are complimentary to the distance skills needed in traditional rally. Pre-requisite is beginner rally. Please note TailWinds beginner rally is far more extensive than other facilities.
